I’m appearing in my sister’s wedding as a groomsman of my future brother in law next month. The apparel is black tie optional, but the groomsmen will be wearing suits. While I own a navy and a dark brown suit, neither are formal enough for this occasion. I’m taking the opportunity to assemble a kit for these types of occasions, when I need to look my best.

For the suit I’m going with SuitSupply’s Napoli Suit in a dark grey faux uni. I don’t currently own any black dress shoes, so instead of just going to Nordstrom Rack and plunking down $100+ on some quick fix dress shoes that I’ll have to replace, I figure I’ll invest in something that will stick around a long while. These Alden plain toe bals are as simple and classic as it gets. They’re elegant enough to wear formally, but sturdy enough to wear to work with a pair of dark denim.
